What counts as a custom shape for a kraft hang tag?

Anything outside our standard rectangle, square and round. Arches, tickets, bottle collars, tag shapes with rounded or notched corners, and full logo silhouettes are all produced as custom die-cuts. If you can draw it, we can usually cut it.

What artwork do you need for a custom die-cut shape?

A vector file such as AI, EPS or PDF is ideal because the cutting path stays sharp at any size. If you do not have one, send whatever you have — even a sketch or a photo of an existing tag — and our design team will redraw it for you at no charge.

Is there an extra charge for the cutting die?

No. Free die and plate setup is included, so the tooling for your shape is not billed separately.

How small or large can a custom kraft tag be?

Tags are made to your measurements. Small formats suit jewelry, candles and soap; larger ones give room for sizing grids, care symbols and barcodes. Tell us the dimensions with your quote request and we will confirm what works with your chosen shape.

Can I print on both sides of a custom kraft tag?

Yes. Many customers use the front for branding and the reverse for care instructions, sizing, batch numbers or a barcode.

Will my brand colors look the same on kraft as on white stock?

Not exactly, and that is worth planning for. Kraft is brown and uncoated, so pale inks pick up warmth from the board. Dark colors print cleanly as they are. For light or pastel shades we print a white underbase first, or use white ink, so the color stays close to your intent. Your PDF proof will show how the artwork sits on kraft.

What string and hole options can I add?

A punched hole, a reinforced metal eyelet, or no hole at all if you plan to glue or sew the tag. Strings come in cotton, jute, elastic and ribbon, and are fitted before despatch so the tags arrive ready to attach.

Do I get to check the design before it prints?

Yes. We send a PDF proof for your approval and nothing goes on press until you have signed it off. Your turnaround time starts from the day you approve the artwork, so approving quickly keeps the order on schedule.

About Custom Kraft Paper Hang Tags

Custom kraft paper hang tags are the option to choose when a standard rectangle, square or round tag will not do. We cut recycled kraft board to your own outline — an arch, a ticket, a bottle collar, a logo silhouette — and print it to your artwork on one or both sides.

What makes this the custom option

Cut to your outline.. Send a drawing, a vector file or even a photograph of a tag you like, and we produce a die to match it.
Recycled kraft board.. The same uncoated natural brown stock as our standard kraft tags, so the texture and color stay consistent across a range.

Printing on brown kraft

Dark inks need no special treatment.. Black, navy, burgundy and deep green all hold their density.
Pale colors shift warm.. The brown board reads through light ink, so we print a white underbase first where accuracy matters.
White ink is the reliable light option.. It is the usual choice for a logo that has to stand out from the stock.
Foil outperforms metallic ink.. Gold, silver, copper and rose gold sit on top of the surface instead of soaking into the fiber.
